How It Works
The Subtle Workflow
Consultation
Every project begins with a conversation. My goal is to understand your vision and to bring your manuscript closer to your artistic goals. We’ll discuss your project, your expectations, and your budget through a phone call, video chat, or email.
Then I will do a free sample edit of 1,000 words, without obligation, to help you decide if I’m a good fit for the project. I will also assess the full manuscript and create a custom proposal according to the details we discussed. Rest assured that any material you share at any point will be kept confidential.
On a budget? I’m happy to discuss payment plans.
Booking
Once you decide to hire me for the project and we finalize the project details (i.e., scope, rate, turnaround time), you will sign a project contract and pay the 50% deposit to reserve your slot.
Editing
One week before the project start date, you will send your full manuscript. The assessment or editing will begin at the agreed date. You’re more than welcome to send any questions that come up while the project is underway.
Project Completion
Once the assessment or edits are completed, you will receive an invoice for the final payment. Once payment is received, I will send all the deliverables detailed in the contract. For line editing, you can send in any questions or request for a one-hour phone or video call to discuss the edits for up to thirty days after the completion date.
