I’m Alexandria Sese.
Originally from Philippines, I started studying English when I was seven. I’ve been fascinated with the language ever since.
I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a degree in English and went on to pursue my Editing Certificate from the University of Chicago Graham School. I specialize in the Chicago Manual of Style and the AMA Manual of Style.
I’m a freelance editor who’s eager to work with authors of different backgrounds, identities, voices, and goals. I have worked in medical publishing as a managing editor for over eight years before transitioning into a full-time copyediting role in medical communications.
I’m also a proud member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
As an editor, I believe in subtle editing that advocates for the author’s story, voice, and style without imposing my own. To me, exceptional editing does no harm and leaves no trace.
I’m based in the US, and I’m a fan of science fiction, Oxford commas, and camping.
